OT: Taking your medicine: Vitamins I've began supplementing my calcium (+ vitamin D) to hasten the healing of my broken leg. Darned problem is they're nickel sized and twice as thick. I gag swallowing each pill (uncoated). Frustrates the heck out of me. I try different juices but it doesn't matter. I'm half tempted to exchange them, after 5 tablets worth. How good are you at taking your vitamins? Andy Very good. I take most of mine in the morning

How good are you at taking your vitamins? Andy I use the chewables or Viactive, which are sort of like eating candy bonbons (how good is that?) The other large vitamins, I place on my tongue pointing either to the front or back of my mouth, and chug with water or juice. My Mom, who is 95 and partially paralyzed from a stroke, now has her vitamins ground to powder in the mortar and mixed with yogurt or applesauce. I recommend high levels of cinnamon as well to help deal with the taste. (Cinnamon is also supposed to be good for regulating blood sugar or blood pressure, I forget which). maxine in ri Sugar.

How good are you at taking your vitamins? Andy Why not just chew a couple of Tums ? For magnesium, use Epsom salts (small amount; like 1/4 to 1/2 tsp) dissolved in something. Bob Bob, Hadn't thought about Tums. Don't know how it's concentrated, and with what else, compared to the supplement with vitamin D. Best, Andy

They were the Oscal brand Calcium, 500mg + Vitamin D. I just returned them to the supermarket. Good to know. I take the generic house brand calcium from Meijers, a discount department store similar to Walmart (not sure if they're got market penetration in your area). Since my stomach is filled with hydrochloric acid, I don't feel I need to be too picky about what kind I take. Too much HCl, in fact; one of those eight pills every morning is Prilosec. How good are you at taking your vitamins? Andy I can't take anything that smells like vitamins - I have some B right now that I have to hold my nose in order to swallow them - but they're small. For those giant ones, just cut them in half. Drugstores sell little gizmos for cutting pills in half. N. I'm pretty sure it's the Thiamine (B1) that is responsible for the dreaded vitamin smell . There is some debate about whether female mosquitoes hate the smell of thiamine enough that taking B supplements for a couple of weeks (so your system is saturated with thiamine and it starts showing up in your sweat) is an effective mosquito repellent. It's certainly safe enough to try as long as you don't crazy overdo it. /Bob

Jeeze Louise, what kind are they? I take calcium + D, and they're these coated oval tablets about the same size as the Centrum that I take. I forget the specs, but I take two, figuring that between that, the calcium in the Centrum (and the antacids that I often take in the evening

When is getting cold, we assume warmer sweater, we warm with the raspberry tea ... And what about our skin? Help and care for her condition in autumn and winter. Methods of skin care products need to adapt not only to our age, as well as to changes of season. If you don't care about protection cosmetics after summer or winter, you need to change that. Each season is ruled by its laws. It is clear that in winter we use other cosmetics than in spring, summer or autumn. With each season, some other skin care needs.
Atmospheric factors, such as cold air, gusty wind, snow and low temperatures are extremely detrimental to our skin. The skin of hands and face is the most exposed to the autumn and winter of irritation, such as the frostbites that cause drying of the skin. The decrease of temperature reduces production of tallow, a cold wind makes it less blooded, which negatively affects its metabolism. The result is dehydration of skin, the resulting increase in sensitivity, and sometimes even flaccidity. Fortunately, thanks to appropriate care, this problem can be remedied. Not only the outdoors are waiting for us of danger, the form of the skin also affects the hot air in the premises. How do I fix this? Help a few tips.
